We build and stain stairs using the same color-matching process used on floor refinishing projects, so the transition from floor to stair reads as one continuous piece of wood.

Can new stair treads be matched to my existing hardwood floor color?
Yes. Aspen Floor & Home Services tests stain samples against the existing floor before finishing new treads, risers and handrails, using the same color-matching process applied to hardwood floor refinishing, so the stairs and the adjoining floor read as one continuous color.
Can carpeted stairs be converted to hardwood?
Yes. Most carpeted staircases have treads that were never finished, since they were built to be covered. Aspen Floor & Home Services installs new solid hardwood treads and risers over the existing structure rather than attempting to finish carpet-grade wood.
Do you install iron balusters or only wood spindles?
Aspen Floor & Home Services installs both wood spindles and iron balusters, and can convert an existing wood spindle staircase to iron balusters as part of a staircase remodel.
